Picturesque private cul-de-sacs, lofty views of Lake Austin and the hills, and proximity to downtown — these are just a few of the reasons Lake Pointe has been a mainstay community in the greater Austin area since the mid-90s. Its location along Bee Caves Rd. places it at just twelve miles from downtown Austin compared to other Lake Travis area communities along RR 620.
Development has neared completion with approximately 825 homes and several different subdivisions including The Settling, The Landing, The Estate, Vista Pointe and the gated section of The Pointe. Though, there are a handful of lots still available for custom home building, which can be found closer to the Lake Austin side of the neighborhood and directly across from Steiner Ranch.

The Vista Pointe section and the gated community of The Pointe are known for luxurious homes that boast one-of-a-kind views of the surrounding Hill Country and Lake Austin below. The neighborhood is part of the active and mandatory Lake Pointe Home Owners Association which affords many amenities. If aerobic exercise is your thing, the surrounding area includes a greenbelt and several nature trails throughout the development. Or, since there is not a lot of through traffic on the community’s streets, it’s an ideal place for evening walks with the family or jogging.
There is also a day-use pier on Lake Austin (LCRA Day Dock ) with private access for the residents of Lake Pointe.
In Lake Pointe’s Backyard
There’s never a shortage of outdoor activities for you to enjoy in the area. Subdivisions have their own amenities like greenbelt trails, playgrounds and pools. But also check out the City Parks: Bee Cave Central Park, Bee Cave Dog Park and Bee Cave/Falconhead West Primitive Park. Then there’s the Bee Cave Sculpture Park that opened its first phase in 2013. This park is truly a hidden gem, tucked behind the Police Department near the Galleria shops. The large, 7-acre natural area with enormous oak tress and a pond somehow seems a world away. And of course, Lake Travis and Lake Austin are just around the corner if you’re looking for some time on the water.
The Hill Country Galleria is where you can find plenty of local businesses for shopping, eating and entertainment as well as Bee Cave City Hall and Bee Cave Public Library. Enjoy Saturday nights outdoors with live music and free kids activities at the Galleria’s Saturday Night Concert Series March through June. The music begins at 7:00 pm at their outdoor amphitheater. Bring your family, friends, and a blanket to lounge on the grassy lawn during the show. Browse the vendors, order to-go food & have it delivered to your spot on the lawn.
