Sitting in the West Hills of Austin between Bee Cave and Lakeway is another one of the top master-planned communities in the Lake Travis area known as Falconhead. Residents also know the neighborhood as Spillman Ranch, but you might recognize the name from the Falconhead Golf Course, expertly designed by PGA Tour Design Architects and one of the top courses in Austin.
The Falconhead Golf Course surrounds this exceptional residential destination where relaxed yet refined, small-city living is in harmony. The vision of the PGA Tour Design architects was to fit Falconhead lovingly into the gentle ups and downs of the site’s rolling terrain, keeping all the flavor of the gnarled trees and meandering streams. The course offers a chance to succeed no matter your skill level, with five sets of tee boxes.
Native surroundings are nearly endless, engaging residents with quiet parks, lush greenbelts, scenic trails and beautifully landscaped open spaces– and within close proximity to Lake Travis.
Since the neighborhood began development in 2003, Falconhead has become very family-oriented neighborhood. Families looking for that special mix of adventure, community and the views of the Texas Hill Country will find Falconhead the perfect choice to settle down– and within a 30 minute drive to downtown Austin and a 45 minutes to the airport. The community has convenient access to work, shopping and entertainment in both Austin and Bee Cave, via thoroughfares including Highway 71, 2244 (Bee Cave Rd.), and FM 620.
Families and residents interested in the Falconhead community have several choices of home styles — from Craftsman styled to Mediterranean villas, from garden houses to luxury homes, there is a little something for everyone. The average home is about 3,200 square feet but there are several other options for home size, features and location — all factors that determine the wide range of prices throughout the neighborhood that begin in the mid $300’s and top out at a million or more.
In Falconhead’s Backyard
There’s never a shortage of outdoor activities for you to enjoy in the area. Subdivisions have their own amenities like greenbelt trails, playgrounds and pools. But also check out the City Parks: Bee Cave Central Park, Bee Cave Dog Park and Bee Cave/Falconhead West Primitive Park. Then there’s the Bee Cave Sculpture Park that opened its first phase in 2013. This park is truly a hidden gem, tucked behind the Police Department near the Galleria shops. The large, 7-acre natural area with enormous oak tress and a pond somehow seems a world away. And of course, Lake Travis and Lake Austin are just around the corner if you’re looking for some time on the water.
The Hill Country Galleria is where you can find plenty of local businesses for shopping, eating and entertainment as well as Bee Cave City Hall and Bee Cave Public Library. Enjoy Saturday nights outdoors with live music and free kids activities at the Galleria’s Saturday Night Concert Series March through June. The music begins at 7:00 pm at their outdoor amphitheater. Bring your family, friends, and a blanket to lounge on the grassy lawn during the show. Browse the vendors, order to-go food & have it delivered to your spot on the lawn.
